Excellence in Doctoral Education and Research



The University Council for Workforce and Human Resource Education is an organization composed of 19 major universities that provide research, service, teacher education, and advance graduate studies in career and technical education and human resource development. The Council's activities are accomplished through the cooperative efforts of the member universities by contributing human and material resources to inter-institutional projects that exceed the scope and capabilities of any one university.
Assistant Professor Award Each year the trustees of the Council will choose an outstanding assistant professor. The individual selected will receive a plaque and other appropriate recognition signifying selection by the Council. For more information click here.
Outstanding Dissertation Award Each year the trustees of the Council selects the outstanding dissertation produced at member institutions. The individual selected receives a plaque from the Council and a check for $500. For more information click here.
Meritorious Service Award Each year the trustees of the Council choose a person to receive the Meritorious Service Award. The award recipient receives a plaque that is typically presented at the annual meeting of the Council. For more information click here.
Doctoral Travel Grant Each year the trustees of the Council will select up to 5 proposals for $300 per grant.The Travel Grants address the University Council's goal of promoting and supporting research of graduate students in the early years of their career. For more information click here.
