Peter Kuchinke, Ph.D., is Professor of Human Resource Development at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. A native German, he holds a doctoral degree from the University of Minnesota in Human Resource Development and Strategic Management. His current research interests include the role of work in overall life design, self-directed career behaviors, and cross-cultural differences in career preparation and development. He has published over 125 scholarly articles and book chapters and presented his research at more than 50 national and international business and education conferences. He is the past Editor for Human Resource Development International and4 Director of a US-Brazilian University Consortium funded by the US Department of Education. He currently serves on a USAID-funded project on strengthening the higher education system in Indonesia His current service appointments include Director of Graduate Studies for the Department of Education Policy, Organization and Leadership; President of the University Council for Workforce and Human Resource Education; and PromoDoc Ambassador for the European Union’s Erasmus Mundus Program.
