Dr. Carsten Schmidtke is Assistant Professor of Human Resource and Workforce Development in the Department of Rehabilitation, Human Resources and Communication Disorders within the College of Education and Health Professions at the
. He currently serves as his programs NOCTI and assessment coordinator and is a member of the University of Arkansas faculty senate. Dr. Schmidtke has taught at the middle school, high school, two-year college, and university level. He has three State Examination degrees in English, French, and Danish from Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel, Germany, and a Ph.D. in Occupational Education from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.
Dr. Schmidtke’s research interests include technical education for American Indian students, workforce education for Marshallese students, the cooperation between industry and educational institutions, international CTE and HRD, and the applicability of the ideas of Soviet educator A.S, Makarenko to modern CTE contexts.
